KENMORE PARK KINDY teacher nominated for a 2013 ASG NEiTA Award for Inspirational Educators
Members of the Kenmore Park Preschool and Kindergarten, and local community are celebrating Kenmore Park Kindy’s teacher, Fiona Guthrie, for being nominated for a 2013 ASG NEiTA Award for Inspirational Educators.
Now in its 20th year, the National Excellence in Teaching Awards (NEiTA) program, supported by the Australian Scholarships Group (ASG), gives communities the opportunity to formally thank their hard-working and inspirational educators and leaders.
Fiona Guthrie was nominated for the award in recognition of her commitment, dedication and passion in educating young children.
Annie Kelly, Director of Kenmore Park Kindy said: Fiona is such an inspiration to our teaching team, I am delighted she has been recognized for all her efforts. The Kindy has undergone enormous changes in the past 12months, and Fiona has been instrumental in shaping the Kindy into an amazing community resource,” Ms Kelly said “Fiona’s classroom shows children who are supported learners as individuals, all working towards developmental milestones with the support of a strong and rich learning culture.”
NEiTA chairman Terry O’Connell said: “NEiTA-with the support of ASG-has helped raise the profile of teaching and the important work educators do in the community.
“We know first-hand the difference quality teaching makes in the community and to our children’s future. We need to keep encouraging passionate young minds to enter the teaching profession to ensure our children get quality education outcomes and the best start in life,” added Mr O’Connell.
NEiTA was formed in 1994 with the support of member-based organization, the Australian Scholarships Group (ASG). NEiTA is Australia’s only national, community-centered teaching awards program that gives Australian parents and grandparents, secondary student councils, school boards/councils, parent associations, committees of management and community organizations the opportunity to nominate their inspirational teachers, principals and directors.
