Exciting New Community Centre
The kindy has recently been offered the space where the family daycare centre, Mini Me, use to be. We hope to turn it into a thriving community centre for the greater Kenmore area. We feel there is a need for a community resource hub in Kenmore to offer a wide range of facilities for new parents and parents of young children leading right up to those of kindergarten age and beyond.
The idea is to provide a range of services – from playgroups, to health nurse consultations, to fitness for new mums to help stave off post natal depression, as well as language, art and music programs for young children, to name but a few.
We also think it could be a fabulous meeting place for parents of young children who need a bit of help and community support.
We have started the process of turning this little space into something more visually appealing. The Brookfield Garden Centre kindly donated the plants for the new garden and helped with the design of it. Some of our parents and teachers worked during the holidays planting them out and already the place is vastly improved. Thanks also to our lovely helpers from Kenmore State High School who have helped by weeding our new garden, as well as ex-dad, Jamie Andriske, who has been invaluable with all his help and support .
